Projects at Home — Update
July 17th, 2003 by Hal
The outdoor room is coming along much slower than we want. Material suppliers have really let us down. The retaining wall system was promised and re-promised and still the materials are not all here. The last pieces are arriving at 9:30 AM on Friday, or so they say!
The skid steer is gone. The boys moved the last 3 yards of crushed stone by hand then machine compacted it. Tomorrow morning we spread the stone dust for the pavers. For the balance of the day we'll be placing over 1,200 pavers.
My trip this week was successful. It was the sixth of seven two-day session with company executives on implementing a lean approach to project delivery in their companies. It has been invigorating for Greg and I working with these leaders. We begin our next group in September. Between now and then we kick-off a six month coaching program to turn project managers into project leaders. (There are still 3 slots available.)
If you're looking for me throughout the day, you can find me placing pavers in the hot sun!
p.s. I'm taking a break this week from the Project e-Tip. It will be back next week.
