—Expert Project Management—
February 3rd, 2003 by HalIf there is such a thing as expert project management you will find it from Max Wideman. Max offers a complete resource site for project management. His advice is direct, often funny, and based on year's of experience managing projects. I've been referring to Max's wisdom for quite some time. Take a look for yourself.

It is particularly interesting how Max has used slide shows to quickly communicate a lot of information. Far more visual than plain text…a very useful technique that has me thinking about how I communicate.

I find Max’s ideas to be a bit narrow. He says every project must have an ‘owner’ who supplies resources. Not so. I’ve done a lot of projects with ‘borrowed’ and ‘volunteered’ resources. He says that projects must be planned and scope set early. In software development, this is the most effective method I know to create excess scope. He sounds like same old same old to me.
